Nintendo came to us at Ecologic Designs, in search of how to responsibly re-use their beautiful vinyl advertisement banners. Ecologic Designs helped Nintendo through the steps of a custom project and decided upon messenger bags to maximize the potential area for artwork visibility and recognition.
With Nintendo’s supplied vinyl -and it’s pristine condition- Ecologic Designs sustainably produced 150 custom messenger bags, in 4 different styles -seen below. The Vinyl features Nintendo’s characters from popular games such as Link, and the Mario Kart crew.
This is Ecologic Designs first project with Nintendo, however we look forward to pursuing future projects with them. Upcycling Nintendo’s lightly used vinyl advertisement-banners into beautiful messenger bags helped divert useful production materials away from their demise in landfills! Nintendo is trying to be as sustainable as possible, and with these messenger bags for their employees, they are making steps in the right direction.
